hey hello smicky, their worth the time you put into them.
about the name, I always watch their behavior or what they remind me of and the first word that comes to mind ... lol.
I would not place much emphasis on giving baths. they are really only necessary if they have some shed stuck on their toes which can cut off circulation and the loss of a limb. try a fine mist perhaps while they are basking.
as long as you watch the humidity level but what I think is important is to keep their hide moist and then your baby should have a successful shed. _________________ 0.1.0 B/W Colombian tegu

Hi smicky. It helps a lot to keep the enclosure humid.I spray the entire mulch down and stir it up.The next day I just spray the top than the next day I stir it all up and the next day I start all over again. So far they have been shedding great.Do you have any pics for us ? hope all is well.I always try to pick unique names. My Tegus names are Leonidas and Zeus.

now that's a good name !!! I love it ! it get's your attention. lol.
smicky, how is the humidity level using all coconut fiber ? you really have to wet that alot and you do not want puddles and when it dries out it gets dusty. you can mix it with preferably cypress mulch or eucalyptus bark is far better in holding humidity. _________________ 0.1.0 B/W Colombian tegu

hi smicky, when did she start to shed ? does she have the hide box ? but from what I read I suspect a humidity issue. _________________ 0.1.0 B/W Colombian tegu

smicky, are you able to get cypress mulch or even eucalyptus bark in Quebec ? cypress and/or eucalyptus are far better substrate in holding the humidity.
I think it is most important to have a moist (not wet) hide box for a good shed. you can use clay bases to large flower pots and place substrate inside or even a large cat litter box and put something on top to stop it from moving. keep it moist inside their hide.
to help his shed right now use COD LIVER OIL. make sure the shed is off all the limbs, toes, etc. this should help smicky. _________________ 0.1.0 B/W Colombian tegu

My two Tegus will not use any hide boxes but I have the cypress mulch and they are shedding great. You just have to keep the mulch moist and stir it up every other day. What you can do is that as soon as you see her starting to bask mist her down ( in the enclosure ) with a spray bottle, every day until she is done shedding.Try to do it like two times a day.
