okay so everytime I feed Turbo (my tegu) he eats untill he's full and then he poops while still in his feeding tank. If I take him out AS SOON as hes done eating he won't poop in his regular tank. I like that he's not going in his regular enclosure because it's easier to clean but its also annoying cause he gets it all over himself and then i don't wanna pick him up. What do I do?? I wish I could litter box train him...

Do you have carpet, tile or hard wood floors ? if you don't have carpet I would let Turbo roam around before he eats.I don't know about other Tegus but my two Tegus after they free roam for a while on the hardwood floor they poop and after they poop they pick up there tail so it will not get in the poop and they just keep walking.A nother thing you can do is ( if you have carpet ) feed him in the bath tub.If he gets dirty you can rins him of real fast. Please make sure that you rinse the bath tub with some hot water first before you put him in there to make sure there is no soap let in the tub from when you took a shower.Hope that helps.

Try soaking your tegu for 10 to 15 minutes in a plastic bin with a few inches of warm water. This will stimulate him to 'void' excess 'matter' prior to eating.

Hi Dave. Here is some info.A nother thing,if you see your Tegu soaking in his/her water bowl please make sure that you have a heat light above the water bowl to keep the water warm.If he/she soaks in cold water he/she can catch a cold.Hope that helps.
