hi BOOSTFEEN, I have just gone through this and asked about this as well. this is what I learned.

sometimes little bugs come in with the mulch. as txrepgirl said above check the color. you can take a slightly moist white paper towel and lightly wipe it all over your tegus.

if they are red, that's bad. mites. that means they are sucking blood.

in my case I saw just a few very tiny white dots moving. if it still bothers you then you can take all the mulch and bake it in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes.
or
(in my case it bothered me). so I took all the mulch out and cleaned the entire enclosure and replaced it all with new cypress mulch. so far so good (fingers crossed).

I hope this helps you.

that's good news. no, the ever so tiny white dots moving like I saw are not dangerous to your tegus.

if they bother you or give you peace of mind (like me. LOL). then you can just take all the mulch and bake it or replace all of it (above).

I would give your Tegu a bath to make sure you drown all the bugs that are on your Tegu and change all the mulch.
