Im thinking of buying a misting system for my tegu tank and just wondering which one is the best to buy,I saw a video on youtube that someone off the site made that showed their system but now I cannot find the video. Also is there any danger with having the misting system near the lights in the tank?I know water and electricity dont go well together icon_lol.gif

Hi Sweenox.I don't know if this is the video you were looking for.I think as long as you don't have the water directly spraying to close to the lights and you have some ventilation by the light you should be fine.If you are looking for a spray bottle like he has in the picture I just saw a BIG one for under $20 at wallmart. They have cheaper ones and different sices.Hope that helps.

You can build one pretty inexpensively too.....PVC pipe and some misting nozzles from a greenhouse place. That's what I did and it works great. You COULD even hook it up to a sprinkler timer to automatically mist at certain intervals. I did that for a while but found it less complicated to just flip the valve off and on once or twice a day. Good luck!

PS - Here's a photo of my setup and also a list of materials I used (not including the PVC which we have at our hardware stores here in the states):

I found my old post with the details of materials. Obviously, you could buy the teflon tape anywhere. See, each nozzle flows at 1 gallon per HOUR, so not too fast really. Leave the thing on for an hour and it's only 3 gallons. Here you go man:

The following were ordered from AFC Greenhouses:

Item Ref. Price ea. Qty. Description

5020215 $3.95 1 1/2 in. Swivel Hose Connector
5020310 $21.00 1 Fine Water Filter
5020320 $0.55 1 Teflon Sealing Tape
5022100 $2.75 3 Poly Mist Nozzle - 1 GPH
5022200 $1.15 3 PVC Mist Nozzle Tee

Hope this helps,

Warner

It's a piece of cake to build, works well, and you'll feel good that you made it yourself!

Good luck!
