Hi, I left the window open last night and my tegu's hide temp dropped to around 65-70 icon_redface.gif He was fine this morning but moments ago I noticed my tegu sneezing mucous bubbles, coughing, sneezing and a runny nose, I've dropped the humidity to about 45 and applying all heat on his hide I'm not sure if it's still in the early stages or not as there was no signs this morning and last night. He was doing it for about 5 minutes but now he seems to have stopped and I'm not seeing any more mucous or hearing anything. I don't see any mucous in his mouth or anything of the like or open mouth breathing however I do see him holding his head up. Is there any other possibilities as to what this is? Is there anything else I should be doing?

I think your Tegu is doing just fine.It is a very good sign that he stoped with what he was doing. He maybe just had something to drink that's when you can see some fluid come out of there nose or mouth. It is also normal for Tegus to sneeze every now and than ( that's from the mulch/dust ).Is there enough humidity in his hide ? if the mulch is to dry they breath in the dust. The temps are not to low for him to get sick that fast.Next time you want to open the window what you can do is put a big towel over the enclosure if you have one with a screen top.If you have your lights on a timer you might want to turn the timer of until you remove the towels because the towels can catch on fire in the morning when the lights come on.A nother thing you can do is keep a eye on his eyes and make sure they are clear and normal looking.Hope that helps.

Thanks for you're help. I've never personally dealt with an RI before in a lizard so I was kinda freaking out. He hasn't shown any symptoms since yesterday, still has an appetite, maybe a little lethargic but still exploring. I bumped his humidity up to around 60 (still a little low, I know) and I'm going to keep his temp's a little warmer then usual for another day or so just to be cautious as I know he didn't have a drink within 10 minutes of me seeing the symptoms. He seems to be alright now though, thanks!
Perry.
