hey everyone! wonderin if i could have some advice on new baby black and white tegu!? got three lil babies and the are all gorgeous. this one though is wild haha. the other two are fine when we go to take them out of the tank and are easy to catch. this one darts really fast every time i go near her to pick her up. i tried to catch her by the tail as it was the only way i could get her and she went wild in my hand trying to bite me ha!iv had her a week now and she not getting much better. i cant get near her. the other two are fine and allow me to pick them up no bother. wonderin what you could advise me to do to get her to trust me?

Hi SiandLi.I don't recommend going for the tail.I would just put your hand in there really slow and let her smell you. When you want to get her out please don't just grab them ( just in case you do that ).Put your hand under her chest and her front legs and kind of scoob her up and put the other hand on top of her so she will not jump of again. As soon as you get her out pet her on her head. What worked great for my two arg. b/w Tegus is I used to put on two shirts ( the outside one should be a darker one ) and tucked them in so he couldn't fall out and get hurt.As soon as I got the Tegu out of the enclosure I petted it on the head and than put him in between the two shirts and just walked around like that in the house without touching him to much.Since you would be her hiding place now she would feel save and warm like that. Also by her being able to smell you would help her get used to you faster, too.Or you can do that T-shirt trick when you watch tv.Mine loved it so much that they still like doing that.We can take naps with them like that.I'm not kidding.Hope that helps.Good luck.
