HELP!! my newly acquired 08 blk and white tegu doesnt seem well. ive had it about 5 weeks and when i first got it it was fine, eating everything,it then started to go off its hoppers and only really liked superworms, turkey, mice etc but was still eating ok so i thought nothing of it,ive now noticed that there is a gap between his mouth and he has a small 'lump' under his right eye. he also has a small scab under his chin. he has gone off his food, not completely as he will still eat a small bit everyday but is quite lethargic. i know the gap betwwen his mouth could be mbd but i dont understand as he has regular supplements and has a brand new 10% bulb. basking temps are 95-100,cool side 80. humidity should be ok as i spray his viv twice a day and he has a moist hide. he hasnt shed yet since ive had it which i find strange as my adult was shedding constantly at that age??could a retained shed be causing him not to eat etc??i know pics would be good but i cant get a decent one,ive tried and tried, sorry. will get it booked in vets but dont really trust them with my reps as thats not what they really do and not a good reptile one round here. thanks for your time.Dan

If it is indeed an 08 hatchling (bright green head), it shouldn't have MBD. I would suspect an abcess in it's mouth, which would cause the lump, misalignment and lack of eating. I would get it to a vet as soon as possible.
