or here is an even less expensive way and easy also (a rubbermaid / storage container flipped over) here is another video for you so you can see what I mean.

You could do that.I would recommend that when your Tegu is not in his hide to every now and than to let the wood air dry for a while because I would be worried that if the wood stays wet inside all the time that the wood would get moldy inside .
Another thing is instead of turning the plastic container over, cut an opening in it a little way up. This way you can fill it with substrate and with keeping the lid on, and only the opening, it is easy to keep the humidity up. I had to stack rocks/bricks for mine as stairs but then they can also lay on top of the plastic container.
