Hello, I am a new member. I have one almost 3 year old male Argentine (he is very handsome icon_biggrin.gif ) along with many other herps and arachnids. My husband and I are building an outdoor enclosure and I need some tips on making a burrow for him. We are in Durham, NC and he will need a cool place to hang out. I'm planning on digging about 2-3 feet deep, want to use a rubbermaid type tote to insert (with or without the lid)so he can't dig out and need help in designing his entrance and an access lid if I need to get to him. It will be in clay soil on the higher end of the enclosure and will have a covering on that end, but just want to keep water out when it rains heavily. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

I used a rubbermaid type container. I kept the lid on and cut an opening in it, this allows him to go in and out and me access when and if I need it. I buried the burrow in the ground and drilled a series of holes for drainage. It seems to be working great. I added soil, moss and some mulch.

Thanks for the info! That video and the pix are amazing icon_razz.gif How exactly did you do the entrance? I see how the sides are built up in his video but my concern is water running down the entrance like a chute. I guess it can be built up before it goes down inside ( kind of like a speed bump)?
