is epoxy good enough or do you need something else. apparently, at a nearby pet store, the owner says that epoxy isn't enough and will rot in a year and he says to use tarp or pond liner for the bottom and sides of the cage. I'm thinking "Thats going to look retarded." Any suggestions and is he right or wrong?

I just googled this up.I don't think it would be a good idea to use epoxy. But I also understand that you don't want to use the tarp.I wouldn't either.Go to Homedepot or Lowes and ask them for a NON TOXIC sealant and to make sure take that info and google it up before you buy it.Hope that helps.
wow, ok. So timbersil. except i already put one coat of the epoxy on. imo, mixing the epoxy resin that unreacted i agree is not good for you, but reacted and hardened i thought was fine. and boric acid sounds like you use that on already damaged wood. What do you use to protect it from the beggining?
i've heard wonderfull things about drylock a masonery waterproofing paint.
also heard of people taking their inclosures to line-x or rhino liner and having them spreyed with a layer of plastic truck bed liner.
eventually i will be perminantly sealing an expensive tank so i needed info on this as well.
as it is now my big cheap tank isn't going to last a year, it's big, like allmost 8'X5' but it's made with particle board, and the humidity is slowly eating the tank alive. i used 4 can of polyurithane inside the tank, but that stuff is just getting gouges scratched out of it by my boys razer sharp claws. _________________ 1.1.0 Arg B/W Tegu Joker n Groxy
