My Emperor scorpion surprised us with 5 little scorplings yesterday. Any tips for care of the little guys? I'm keeping them extra moist and pre-killing crickets for mom.

I think you can feed them pinhead crickets once they wander away from mom.

Baby scorpions with mom are so cute. So impressive that the mom is caring all of them on her back. icon_biggrin.gif

Hey Laura icon_smile.gif
How are your Emp babies doing? Mine had 30+ babies a couple of weeks before yours did (July 14) Mine are at 3I now and eating like little pigs icon_smile.gif
You can put raw meat in with them if you're short on crickets. Emps are indescriminate opportunists and will eat dead meat if they find it. I've been using stir fry strips in addition to crickets.

I'm sure I do...not much chance of 'em all being girls. They're at 3I now..eight weeks old, and a little over two inches already. Their last molts are
1.75" They should be sexable by 3I...by molt at least, but I've got 'em living communally and can't tell which molt goes to which scorpling.
I've got a few of them separated that havent quite molted yet, so it may be that I can ID a male before long. A less accurate method is taking the lean trim ones for males and the bulkier ones for females.

Ahh...gotcha icon_wink.gif WC adult female already pregnant.
I really only got her because she was HUGE (8"+) As is so many times
the case with WC AF, she was pregnant. 8 mos later...babies!
