Hey guys, some of you may remember me being concerned about my new tegu acting depress and refusing to eat. But now hes doing great! He comes out about 8-12 hours a day normally when im not home but still great! And hes eating every day as soon as the food is in his cage. He even is eating In front of me now, he's gotten use to me and his new home. The taming part isn't going on so well he wont let me pick him up but it's coming along O.K. But hes getting a little better his bite hurts like hell exspecially considering his teeth haven't came all the way in yet. But I can tell he just wants out of his clostrophopic tank, and hes grown about 4 inches since I've got him. I'm thinking about making an enclouser for him out side so he can get some fresh air and sunlight. But like I said he doesn't like the idea of being picked up yet so idk if thats the best idea yet. Plus it'll start getting cold here in the next month. So any suggestings on how to tame him and let him except me as a friend and not a predator.
He's Ok with most people exspecially considering me he's still a bit shy, but he hates one of my friends with a passion he tried petting him and he didn't like that at all, that was 3 weeks ago and he still looks at him and goes crazy everytime hes over.
I've decided to call him Stoner, cause he reminds me so much of one, all he does is eat, sleep and hes paranoid. But really just wanted to say thanks for all your help, and ya'll were right. He's a great pet, I'm already attatched to him. I'll try and upload some pics ASAP. _________________ 0.1.0 Blk Wht Tegu "Stoner"

I remember that tegu, glad to hear that things are going better. Are sure it's an Argentine and not a Colombian? It's not that Argentine's can't get an attitude, but I was just curious. When my B/W was little, she would squirm, try to bite, and poop all over us whenever I picked her up. But now she loves us! _________________ Laura R (FL)
