Hello all!
I JUST got a yearling Red Tegu for a SCREAMING deal I just could NOT pass on. It's tame and came with bunches of stuff including food, vitamins and cage furniture as well as a MVB! (and was STILL $100 cheaper than a baby by itself!) Schweet!! icon_biggrin.gif So anyway, here are some crappy cell phone pix. I tried to clean em up and a couple actually display fairly close to the actual coloration which is a little unusual from what I have seen around lately. I've been out of the tegu thing for years so what do I know. I had a chacoan forever ago and that was the one I really wanted this time but the price was too nice and the lizard was too so here "he" is:

He is a very nice looking tegu.

To me, he looks like a light colored red. The reason I say that is because the B/Wxred I've seen (just a few) really didn't have much red, but the black was more of a chocolate brown. So, they looked like a brown/white.

I know when I take pics of my red, the red is much more vivid IRL; I'm imagining yours is, too.

Thanks guys.
Actually this particular shot is not too far off actual color. It was still a bit blured and whited out on the corner from light but it's about the best I can do with it. I played with it a little trying to clean it up for clarity and color. Photos are like recordings, you can only do so much with crap. You gotta love cell phone photos.
Eh, oh well. Better than none I guess.
He came up for air today and we had a soak and he ate a couple mouse hopper-sicles for me so maybe we can interact a bit more before he's down for the winter.

Yeah, they lick em till they thaw a little and then they're not quite as crunchy.
LOL!

Oh, I kill me! No, I thaw them of course. That's just my creative way of saying frozen thawed.

No harm done!
I know you guys are used to newbies but I've been working with various reptiles for the past 15 years. I just never had a RED Tegu and last I did have a tegu there wasn't as much info on them so I'm playing catch-up just a bit.
