As of yet,I have not had a tegu , however , after spending a week on your site, I am completely transfixed . I have a bearded that I have had for 14 yrs , he was about 1 yr when I purchased him.The pet shop where I got him told me that they have not heard of one that old . I know that there are others out there , but I think it is fairly rare. I would like to think that part of the reason of his longevity is the loving care I have given him over the years. He is still eating well, however he is slowing down. One of the reasons that I came upon this site, was that I was trying to find something new. well , roll me over, I must have a tegu. I was going to wait , however I might not be able to hold off. I have tried to cram a lot of knowledge in a short period of time , however there is one question that I would appreciate if one of the group would answer for me. Just how intelligent are they ?
thanks for your time , I will keep in touch
ron

Hi tontolizard.Welcome to the Tegu forum family. It's nice to have you as a new addition here.Yes,the Tegus are very smart.I have ( and had ) allot of reptiles but the Tegus are by far my favorite.I never thought I could take a nap with a lizard icon_lol.gif ( of corse you would have to handle them as much as you can to get them and keep them tame like that ) .When our Leonidas is doing something that I don't like I tell him in a firm tone no and he stops.I don't know if you have seen my videos yet but I thought I give you the link to it.Hope you like them.Good luck with finding the Tegu you want. When you get one please post some pictures.Thanks.Also ask as many questions as you like. That's what we are here for icon_wink.gif .

Angelrose I like the welcome picture allot icon_wink.gif icon_biggrin.gif .
