hello Flawdabeachbum, Welcome to theTegu forum family.

he appears to be a red argentine. looks very malnourished. are you adopting him ?

red args are very beautiful. they can eat mealworms, superworms, crickets, dubia roaches, snails, crayfish, fresh fish fillets from the supermarket, quail hatchlings, baby chicks, mice and or rats (size appropriate, pre-killed)
raw meats would include turkey, chicken, chicken gizzards and hearts, beef liver, lamb, venison.
some fruit such as papaya, strawberries, blueberries, mango, maybe even some cantelope or honeydew.

don't forget the UVB lighting.

I think he would make you very happy icon_smile.gif keep us posted on this fine looking baby.

If you're going to fatten him up don't fill him up with fruits (they're mostly water), feed him meat & rodents.

yep, red, argentine and underweight.

lol, don't worry, they know how to fatten themselves up real quick. all you gotta supply is the food.

edit: is he in vermiculite? not really a tegu friendly substrate.

also kinda looks like he's lost a few toenails. gotta get that humidity way up for him to regrow em and not loose any more.

Hi Flawdabeachbum.I also would like to welcome you to the Tegu forum family. It's a red argentine Tegu.Would it be possible for you to post a video of him/her walking ? I just want to see how he is walking to see if he has mbd.If you can't check him out and see if his legs shake when he is walking and if he looks weak.Ask them how often they gave him the vitamine and calcium powder and what mulch they use and if they have a UVB light. Also ask them if they ever took him to the vet and who the vet is.Good luck with him if you are going to get him/her.Let me know if you are getting him and I'll give you soem care sheets and other infos.
