January 15th.

I picked up a gold tegu from the reptile show in Whiteplains. I got home set him up and the first thing he did was burry hiself in the mulch under his hide box/Tree. I was very excited and wanted to see him run around in his tank for a bit but I guess that's going to have to wait.

January 16th.
I haven't seen him. He's still under. I put 9 mealworms in his bowl. left for a while and when I got back they were gone. He was basking for about a min. after I got there and he was gone just as fast. Tomorrow is another day.

January 17th.
STILL NO NAME!!! I have to name him/her soon. I finally see him for longer than a min. I put 12 crickets in his bowl, Left the house to run some errands. When I got back he was just walking around. I figured I would soak him for a while and take off some stuck shed he had on his tail. When I went to pick him up he got a bit msd. started huffing and whipping his tail. Feisty little one. As I am soaking him I noticed one of his toe nails was hurt and it looks like it will be falling off soon. Hopefully I can do something so he doesn't loose it. he also has a little bump on the bottom side of his tail that looks a bit brownish. The spot is also a bit rough. I'll have to wait and see what people on the forum suggest I do as I have never had to deal with this situation. Hopefully I can salvage his nail.

I was worried there for a few days that my tegu wasn't going to eat. To my surprise he did came out to eat the 18th and the morning of 19th. Egg and chicken was on the menu, both days he had eaten a considerable amount. icon_biggrin.gif

My question on food for him will he eat some pork, salad, and if he will are they harmful to him? icon_confused.gif
