I use it only to scent the nutritional foods I want the tegu to eat or very ocassionally a part of a boiled egg as a treat. It is commonly believed the infertile eggs (like the chicken eggs you get from the store) can result in a lack of biotin if fed to your tegu too much. Just give him supplimented turkey, crickets, worms (meal, super, silk), cockroaches, pinkies, fuzzies, hoppers, etc.. Remember to dust all insects..
