Neither one of my Tegu's have ever - ever soaked them selves in water, although it is available - I mist them down along with their enclosures every day - they seem to be fine _________________ 1.0.0 Ball Python "Albino"

My tegu's don't soak either. They just push a bunch of stuff into the water dish or knock all the water out. I put them in the bathtub often and mist the cages during the day.
Frequent soaking can actually be a sign of dehydration (possibly caused by low humidity in the cage), so dont worry about it. Even when I soak my tegu during a shed in the bath he makes it quite clear that he doesnt enjoy it that much.

I've only seen My Tegu soak once, this was during the extreme heat wave, we were having this summer! My apartment is on the third floor and is extra hot, guess Tegus can only take so much heat.
