I have a B&W Tegu that is almost 2 years old, her name is Cookie. For the past few days she has been constipated and soon after stopped eating. This worried me because I thought she might have impaction or maybe swallowed some of the substrate while eating (never feeding in the cage again). So I took her to the vet yesterday and they performed an enima...no luck. They still have her today and are going to go in and get it out. I know I don't post a whole lot on here and most of you don't know about Cookie, but please wish her the best. Has anyone else had to put their tegu through this surgery?
I've never done the surgery, but I have done enemas. Depending on the size of the obstruction, and what is causing it, surgery may be the only route to go. Get them to analyze the obstruction for its chemical makeup.

The surgery went well and she is doing just fine , of course the first 24 hours are the most critical and anything can happen but the vet told me she is definitely getting better as time goes. And he said before the surgery that it was like a calcium build up or something like that.

I live in southern California, the place I went would be a long long drive for you MO.
As far as what they removed, it was calcium. 2 pretty large chunks. But she's doing better, just gotta make sure she heals right and this doesn't happen again.
