Ok im putting mr tegu (his/her name for now) into a 55 gallon tank and am wondering this: how high a wattage bulb am i gonna need to keep its temp up? Im looking to get a UVB Heat lamp this way I wont need to buy both a heat lamp and a UVB Fixture and bulb. If someone coudl help me out and point me in the direction of a good bulb thats does this id greatly appreciate it!!! Thanks
Alright well i actually found a great UV Heat bulb made by T-Rex. My only other question is now whats the difference between flood light and spot light bulbs. I ask this because they offer them in both. They have 2 choices which are 100 watt and 160 watt. Thanks guys
spot lamp gives off a tighter, narrow beam and the flood light will just light up everything _________________ 1.0.0 Argentine B&W Tegu

I'm not sure on the heighth of a 55, however for a 90 that I have which stands 24" tall, filled 7 inches with substrate, with a half log on top of that for basking, I use a 150 watt to reach optimal basking temp ... _________________ 1.0.0 Ball Python "Albino"

I prefer the flood type so it can heat up not only the basking spot, but the area around it as well - How long he's in a 55 depends on how fast he grows - I would say when he reaches 1/2 the length of the tank, it would be time to move into something bigger ... _________________ 1.0.0 Ball Python "Albino"
