Every once in a while, my Colombian seems to get agitated in his tank. He starts digging in the corners and rubbing his nose along the glass.

I've heard I should black out 3/4 of the sides so he can tell he can't get out there. Is that a solution, or just a band-aid on a bigger problem?

My Colombian behaves in the same manner sometimes - I don't believe it to be aggitation, however wanting to get out of the enclosure for a while - I've read of people blacking out some of the lower levels of the enclosure so they would not try to walk through the glass, however I believe they are smart enough, and after a few tries - They know the boundries of their enclosure...

Okay, thanks. I'll try to start letting him out to romp when he starts nose-rubbing his tank.

By the way, a few minutes in the tub with warm water running seems to work for getting him to go to the bathroom, so that I can play with him/feed him/let him roam around afterward without worrying about accidents (:
