My tegu is 24 inches lenght, and by this time of the year he grows fast, so I' m thinking about building a bigger terrario
what would be the appropriate dimensions for it? (in inches, please icon_lol.gif )

The eventual size of the tank should be around 6'x3'x3'.
Most cost efficient may be to build it and partition it in half till he can use the entire terraria.

It sort of depends on the species. That would probably be fine for a Tupinambis teguixin, but I think you'll find that a fully grown T.merianae or T.rufescens will be cramped in anything less than about 8' X 4'.

Bigger is better, however keep in mind that most standard doorways are only 3' - I really can't go Wider than 30 inches or they wont fit through the doorways in my house without being disassembled, so have to make up for that in length...

Agreed...

This was not in disagreement with your post Tupinambus, just as overall general info that I had overlooked myself by constructing an enclosure in one room, than transferring it "or not" to another room - I had to take it apart and trim it down some...

it would be great if I could build the definitive terrarium but I can' t, I still don' t have much space in my room and there' s no need to hurry
considering this, what would be the appropriate dimensions?

make it as large as you can! No less than double your tegu's length. Be good to him. If you can spare the extra room, give it to him. Go big or go home, my son. I am building a cage thats 7 feet by 4 feet. Just my two cents.
