Ya, buddy's looking a little chubby up there.

It's either a really dirty Argentine, or some kind of odd colouration of an Argentine. It's definitely not Columbian though.

Anthony, it looks like a Argentine Black n White in shed, I have seen a few that had this color in shed before. I will also add, this is not a male but rather a female.

I will admit this, she is the fattest tegu I think I have ever seen. I do not think this is real healthy for them to be this much over weight. Many large snakes and monitors have died from obesity before, a diet might be in order for her.

Varnyard, May I know how to tell it is female from this pic alone? Is it the jowls?

I will be reducing the food intake in september when 1 year is reached.

Anthony, yes I am looking at the jowls, a tegu of that length will show the jowls in males.

Wow, that things a beast. I had an Arg with that yellowish/orangy color to it, but it was more on the bottom rather than all over. either way though, sweet tegu, and yeah, i'd put her on a diet too, i had a monitor that i fed way to much and hes probably got that tegu by quite a bit in stomach girth.... but he's on his diet now and he's slimmin down. I felt bad at first, but he'll live longer and healthier so that makes it worth it. Good luck.

Varnyard, you are 100% positive, just from this picture alone? I am not arguing with you just making sure. 100% positively female?

I ask because my iguana was considered a female for a while, he was already much bigger than what they said the SVL should have been when they show male characteristics. No jowls, not much of femoral pores, no bulge at the vent, no brain bumps, nothing. But then all of a sudden, bang, he became male. I had to change his name from Liv to Tyler. This happened when he was about almost double the SVL he was supposed to start showing male characteristics if he were a male.

Nero... the tegu will be on a diet. I want to give him a year from birthdate of eating before reducing the food, which will be this coming september. I have reduced his food intake already but I don't want to do anything really drastic until 1 year of age.

I am looking at those two pictures, in them I do not see anything that would make me think it is a male. A tegu that big, if it is a male will have the jowls. This tegu is not showing these at all, now I realize it is young, but for the size alone it should have larger jowls.

Here is a picture of a young male, note the jowls:
