once u soak the brick it loosens up to a bedding so id say once. haha sorry its really good holds lots of water. and i have it all spread out under the cypress mulch so they can dig into softer "dirt" _________________ 0.1.0 Colombian Tegu

It holds moisture really well, I use it with my tarantulas and I can maintain 75% humidity very easily. I let mine dry down a bit and then resoak it instead of constantly having it wet.
