icon_biggrin.gif here ya go
Starting out have adult sexed pair... COl. black and gold tegus are
seasonal breeders breeding after some what dry season keep dry with
water dish for drinking. about 3 months start misting cage heavy
raising humidity breeding has happen at about 3 weeks of
this....gestation is long in COl. tegus about 3 -4 months...incubation
is long around 160-180 days because season rains etc. they have a
much longer incubation than other tegu species. setting up a nest box
since COl. tegus like laying in termite mounds by using a large
garbage can filled with moist sand forst floor mix keep screen lid on
top with heat light do this when females are heavy with eggs. and
place female in the large container and let her lay...after done remove
female will be aggressive at this time. remove the eggs place in
incubator temps. set at 85-86 degrees are good incubation temps.
place the eggs in a container filled with moist vermiculite. and give
lots of time Good luck need any more info will be glad to help.
jeff

Well being this is the first time i have ever heard of anyone successfully breeding Tupinambis teguixin I would be certainly interested to see pictures of eggs and hatclings. There's a few things your post did not cover including clutch size?? So how many eggs did you receive? did all the eggs come full term? how big were the hatchlings when they emerged??
I would love to see some pictures of your breeders and there set ups too along with pictures of the offspring (I would also be very interested in obtaining a cbb teguixin do you have any left? I would imagine so as the market for them is relatively low with the mass exporatation of farmed animals, let me know)

reptisnob - I didnt breed them Its just conditioning tips i used for other south american herps i kepted and breed. that I think will be the conditions for Columbia Black and Gold tegus to breed. Was intended for advice on conditioning them for breeding. If you go to weather in south american with the links above on this post you will see weather conditions for columbia... Ive worked with the species and really think this conditioning i mentioned will bring sucess in breeding them. A few people on here have COL. use my tips see if it works . I have all arg. tegus. but to test my advice i guess i have a challege . Angelrose ill pick up a male .

Jeff

so your giving advice on how to breed animals you have never bred?
that just doesnt make any since, what works for one species in a certain habitat/range does NOT always work for another. ugh.
