Nope, none of jack on there. I will get some up as soon as possible. I wish I could get some on here, but for some reason I can't. icon_evil.gif icon_mad.gif icon_redface.gif icon_confused.gif icon_sad.gif icon_question.gif icon_exclaim.gif

Personally I like pets I can play with than just to look at..
Taming isn't easy.. Jeez, you should see my iguana. She'd murder me in my sleep first chance she got.
But it depends on your pain tolerance really..

My Iguana is fine if I get her out of her enclosure and straight onto my shoulder.. but If I look at her I get whipped straight across the eyes >.<

Which hurts.. but not enough for me to lock her up for rest of her life..

Shes tried biting me too.. but thats just pathetic icon_razz.gif

I didn't think they would bite though.. being herbivores n'all.

I understand what you are saying, but I got kitties and dogs and a whole zoo full of critters that LOVE to be petted, so I think the lizards that have homicidal intent will remain 'look pets' for me.

Lucille.I don't want to be rude but since you already have a lot of pets that you get to pet why don't you sell your Tegus that you don't want to tame down so some one else can and the Tegus will have a better live instead of being locked up for the rest of there lives. You would go nuts, too,if you never get to leave your house again. It's not fair to them.Like I sad I didn't mean to be rude about it ( but they need some love, too icon_wink.gif ). Think about it.

I wouldn't myself buy a ''looked pet'' but I don't think that is wrong to do and I respect it. I am not against people that do not agree with the theory of taming animal. If you want a looked pet, this is your own choice and nobody should be argueing with it. icon_wink.gif

My opinion is that: if you buy a looked pet, be sure that he lives into a much bigger enclosure, so he/she can lived into a very comfortable place.

Good luck with them! icon_biggrin.gif

I myself have pets that are there more to look at ( I do handel them some times but not as much as my lizards ) like my veiled chameleon and ball python.I'm not saying that it is not ok to have pets just to look at them but I think it depends on what type of animal it is.Tegus are very large and very active and need to free roam a lot.If they wouldn't be so active and would be in a VERY BIG enclosure I wouldn't say any thing about it.But that's just what I think about it.

Of course, Tegus and monitor are very large, I consider it is very important to them to free roam a lot. icon_wink.gif

There are some species that are look at pets, even if we don't want to admit it. Amazon tree boas, anything venomous (duh) and even a few lizards. Tokays, most nile monitors, alot of columbian tegus. Not every animal likes human interaction, and if they don't it is our responsibilty as good keepers to make them as comfortable as possible in as large of an enclosure as possible. Also if at all possible to recreate their native enviroment. It is okay to keep reptiles as "look at pets" as long as they are setup properly. Reptiles by nature a solitary anyway, they could probably care less. As long as they get fed plenty icon_lol.gif
