You could bring him to the vet.The things that they could do is take a xray and maybe have to do a surgery to get it out or they will give you some meds to put it on the vent.So when he passes that thing through the vent it helps not getting infected and torn more.Call your vet and see what he recommends you doing. The magnet and the rust ( if there is any on there ) is made out of Iron and is not toxic. How many days have it been now since he ate it ?

it's been about 48 hours i believe. i would go to the vet, but i'm broke, and i've seen him pass a compacted soil ball that was way bigger than that thing.

even ravenously hungry he won't touch the yoghurt. fed him some vegetable oil though, maybe help him lubricate.

the pump had no rust whatsoever. those things are designed to spin in water for years so they don't rust.

i've been watching him, he's not in pain, and no wiggle-butt only thing is he's upset that i'm not stuffing his face with food like i usually do. he keeps walking up to me and repeating the whole feeding ritual then getting mad and walking away when no food appears. and repeating like once every 20 minutes.

It's amazing what these guys will eat. Id be worried as well, but chances are he'll pass it. I had a dog that would eat tennis ball pieces (chopped up by the dog park mower), he had 6 surguries to remove them from his gut over his 10 year life, he finally passed from complications from the last surgury. This is to say, it's a crap shoot.

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your dog Ricardo icon_cry.gif .Pets are just like small kids. You never know what they are getting into next icon_rolleyes.gif .

Worldeater. If you want to you can feed him some chicken /turkey and gravy baby food with a little bit of warm water.Put some calcium and vitamine powder in it.That way he still will get some nutrition in him but it's not solid food to get him even more impacted. Thanks again for keeping us posted.

she's still acting completely normal, i allmost think she crapped it out and diden't tell me. i'm gonna search her tank and my room for a stinky impeller tonight.

i know her butt wiggle, she isn't doing it.

i've been feeding her mashed up fish fillets with oil in it. but she's gonna need a real meal soon. she's been getting in my face about it.

I have an idea :), If you have a vet near by just go over there and say that you use your Tegu for educational purposes and you have no money but you need help. Most vets really do care for animals and will take care of it for there own knowlegde. Trust me it might work just try it. But make sure you talk to the vet not the front desk people., Just say I must see the vet it is an emergancey and if you have a young kid that can go with you that will work even better.

icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif you crack me up.But that is one cool idea since most vets don't know what a Tegu is any way and would like to learn about them, too. It's worth a try icon_wink.gif .

Frankly i think she passed it. i can't find it. but it's been a long time. her impaction when she was younger totally showed in her attitude. just generally uncomfortable and doing the wigglebutt every 15 minutes. she's acting completely normal, and social. she was playing dawn of war with me last night. (sleeping on my lap) and i've been feeding her eggs and fish and other light things. frankly i think if there were a problem a symptom would have showed by now.

all is great! the impeller is gone. atleast i can't find it. she's acting normal, crapping normal, slightly mad at me for feeding her such easly digestable foods ie: fish, egg whites, oily turkey. i can tell she misses her f/t mice. i think this weekend i'll be going back to her normal feeding items.

i wonder if i threw out the impeller when i got rid of her cypress? ohh well.

so yea, all's well that ends well. thanks for thinking of her. i'll let her know other people love her too tonight.

LOL!!!!! I found it!!!

i had a ten gallon tank like 1/5 full of water sitting under spyro's cage, i washed it out a few days ago because i got ahold of a few dubia roaches and needed it for them.

i was just looking at the fruit in the roach tank when something caught my eye.
