Ok, Ive been reading about Tegus hibernating, and am wondering if every Tegu hibernates? How do I know if mine will be hibernating. Im sorry if this is a stupid question, but i really have no clue about this. Thanks guys
What Thee01Edge says is basically true. Most tegus without access to zeitgebers (external environmental cues) do not hibernate. However, sometimes, the animal is able to receive certain zeitgebers (such as changing photoperiod through a window, overall relative humidity dropping in the house, lowering of average room temperature, etc.) that can trigger the hibernation response.
