hi everyone,
is this a good "box to tegu" ratio for shipping? my male's 3 ft. long. i'm not shipping him but i'm trying to give advice to someone who will be shipping a tegu of similar size to me from florida to southern california.
also, do you think a heat pack's in order? (i don't think so but want to ask just in case)

here's the link to the picture:

thanks in advance

Tell him not to used Fedex Ground.
I used to work with them and they're
not the best when handling boxes
I hate to see the lil one lose its life
because of them.

Dude thats inhuman, the size of that box its like 1/2 of a turist sit in an airplane, and turist class is inhuman.

Like 1 week ago i transported my tegus in a rubbermaid, i buyed something where they can fit without bending their bodies, towels (and replacements because with a 10 hours trip they would like to pee) and i drilled a hole in the top of the box, it had a grill but i tought that it will be insuficient.

With all that they thend to have motion sickness and vomit (that depends on the animal, one of them was all sick and the other didnt even blink), so dont feed him before the trip but give him water or he can get dehydrated, DO rubbermaid, because they hit the walls of the cage with their nose and they can get hurt, put the towels in some manner that they protect your tegu from hitting the walls of the cage while moving, and i would suggest to box the rubbermaid in something else with something that can isolate the cold from outside, because the transport airplanes dont have heaters and it'll get cold in there, enough to affect your pet.

Just toughts, ive never shipped a living animal in a plane, just traveled with my pets for about 20 hours in the last month icon_confused.gif
