i went to wharf today on fishy buisness and had a chat with the guys at wharf reptiles. they told me u have to use this bulb on a timer as you can't use it on a dimmer as it is ballasted.
does anyone use this bulb and i presume a pulsestat isn't any good eather as it would probably blow the bulb eventually.
i'm still trying to figure out how to stop a viv from ovewrheating in my already warm, 80 degree, fish house

The powersun bulbs are great but it is true, you can't use stats with them. They are only an option for open topped cages or very large ones. In an enclosed cage, you need to have at least 18" clearance above the top of the basking spot, and 24" is prob. better.

Mark.
