hello together, I has a giant problem for now 2 years is I on looks for clear sex differences of tumpinambis teguixin. can me here someone help? does someone have pictures of adulten animals? or are there real, clear differences between males and females? the larger, broader head with the male helps me only with adulten animals of far gibts it characteristics in the head region (number or arrangement of sheds)? icon_cry.gif

Tegus are hard to sex without probing until they are about 3 feet long. At this time the cloacal spurs/bumps of the males will be noticable.

Here is a picture of the bumps on an adult male tegu. Note that this picture is taken from behind the tegu by lifting the tail.

Thank you for the fast answer. due to yours must I state then with our animals probably still wait, until the sex are clearly determined on the other hand I however thereby will with difficulty do a clear female in Germany to find, because all offered animals are in the juvenil was entitled and no humans offer a in this country clear female. nevertheless I am pleased about the forwarding or the publication of pictures before up adult animals (teguixin) and its dwellings to see are. greet aud Germany
