For those of you who bookmark the forum directly and do not enter through the main page, there is a new poll up. Join www.thetegu.com and the poll is on the right.
The old poll question was:
Do you support TheTegu.com by clicking ads?
The results were:
40% Answered: Yes, I sure do!
52% Answered: No, Ads suck
08% Answered: What ads?
Because of the results I would like to take a moment to make a statement to the members of The Tegu Community.
To those who answered "Yes", Thank you. A check from the ads you clicked on will be here shortly and I intend to have some T-shirts printed up with a tegu image and the words "The Tegu Community - Proud Member". The shirts will be raffled off or given as prizes, this has not been completely decided yet. Shirts may also be sold at cost to those interested in them. The money from shirt sales will go right back in to buying new shirts.
(I've been asked, so shirts will likely be black T-shirts with white or grayscale printing)
To those who answered "No", I would like to apologize for the need to have these ads running. I chose ads that were on the side of all the content. Ads that would not popup, flash or cause distraction from normal forum activity. The ads allow me to supplement what I pay to run this site as well as do stuff such as these shirts. Other sites resort to "Paid Membership" or "Pay to post in certain area" schemes. I would rather allow Google to pay me small amounts and keep the site 100% free for all members. I hope you understand.
To those who answered "What ads", if you look on the left of this page you will see an area labeled "Of interest...". If you see a link in that box that interests you and you click on it a few cents is added to a fund. Once the fund is over $100 Google sends me a check that I may use to help fund this site or more likely, to buy stuff for it.. such as member T-shirts.
