I know that pools have chlorine in them so I figured I'd ask before I even got a tegu. Kinda curious... so would it be okay to let a tegu swim in your pool? Or is there dangerous amounts of chemicals in them? Thanks

I'm going to say no, I am just saying this because the fumes are probably toxic, because bleach fumes are bad for them and chlorine is pretty strong stuff too. Also because you are supposed to use dechlorinated water for them to drink (even though I know not everyone does) and there isn't very much chlorine in tap water... icon_wink.gif

Not to mention that tegus do swim, but they are not endurance swimmers and should never be put into a body of water that is deep. If they can't touch bottom and lift their head out of the water you are taking a risk.

Get him one of those little kiddie pools from Kmart to play in - As long as he can touch the ground, and keep his head above the water - I would agree that the fumes would most likely be too strong from a pool full of chemicals - Hell I can't even stand them...
