Long term effects of skipping hibernation has never been tested or documented, but I know people who have had tegus for several years and skipped every hibernation and the tegus have grown fine.
Keep in mind that while a tegu is in hibernation its metabolism slows and they barely grow/age. It is my assumption that if the growth/aging is slowed for several months each year during hibernation, that every year they don't hibernate you loose several months of life expectancy. Again, that is my assumption and I have no evidence to back it up.
so either way is really the same if he does hibernate i will not see him for months but he will live longer and if he does not i will see him all year but he will not live as long i gues either way i get to see him the same amout of awake time thanks for the input
