Hello guys!
I have a question: what is the TRUE at the albigularis by feeding with rodents?
Can I feed him with rodents rarely and only with maus or rat with small fur, or it' the best idea that leave this thought at all, because the animal hair cause everytime dyspepsia or digestive problems?
When , yes, what is the normal, healthy amount what I can feed per a week, or how many percent can be rodents a food of an albigularis?
Please write me only practised answers!
A growing monitor should be fed every day. If you check out the monitor
forums on kingsnake most of the people with success swear by insects
when young and whole rodents once the monitor is big enough to eat them. I fed my black throat p/k mice and p/k quail chx 75% of the time. By the time I sold him he was 30" and started to lose interest in crx. However, he still loved big night crawlers. On occasion he was also offered a baked/egg ground turkey mix which he loved. Whole prey items
are much more nutritious than ground turkey, beef, etc. Monitors get
calcium from the bones and also benefit from all of the organs, etc.
I never had a problem with impaction due to fur or hair either.
I would suggest you visit the monitor forums on kingsnake for further
info. There are many people on that site with much success. MOST of the
people with big healthy monitors fed whole prey items such as mice, rats
and chics. As they say in the monitor world "Heat 'um & Feed 'um"!
Good luck!
