(according to most) If you don't plan to breed them, you don't *need to* hibernate them HOWEVER if a tegu decides he/she is going to hibernate, there's not much you can do about it. I have an Argentine Black and White tegu that hatched out on July 4th. I did not change anything in her environement. She has had the same temperatures (both day and night) same humidity, same feeding schedule, and same lighting schedule from day one and she still hibernated on me. If your baby tries to hibernate, let her. Do not dig her up, do not take her out and play with her, etc. Simply leave her be. It saves on electricity. You can leave her in her cage, you do not have to move her. Mine has been hibernating for 3 weeks but I had to dig her up last weekend because I moved to a new house and could not transport her safely in her cage so if I do not see her by October 15th, I will turn her lights and heat off and cool her. _________________ Kris, Herps they're not just a hobby, they're a way of life!
