Finally got my temps dialed in!
Under the hot spot: 110-115 degrees (Blues should be able to take a hotter basking spot compared to other Tegus IMO, Bert at Agama International supports my thesis - more on my web site which will be up very soon!!!!!!)
Ambient: 80 degrees
Humidity: This is where problems arise!
1-3 times a week I will fill a 1gal mister with water and spray down the entire cage completely! This dries up fast! When ever the animals are in shed I mist them directly. I have had NO problems with this method. All sheds are in very large pieces and I've had no stuck shed problems. _________________ John Light

The tegus seem to do fine this way. I empty the entire gallon of water into the enclosure. I haven't had any shedding issues what-so-ever. This is working great for me so I intend to keep it this way. It's very humid in FL so I don't have to worry to much. If shedding problems were to ever arise I would need to re-think this. _________________ John Light

I would say little but often misting would work better than a whole gallon every 2 -3 day.s
I generally do about 1 litre (2 pints) every other day, and also spray directly when he's shedding, which he absolutely loves.
Going to start giving him a bath once a week too. Apparently this is really good for the skin, and Tegu's do like a bit of a swim from time to time. Anyone have any views on this, or already do it ?

Both our tegu's (b&w and red) have a "swimmingpool" which is a little bit more then their body size. Both of them use it sometimes as swimmingpool but mostly they just use it as an oversized drinking bowl.
I do notice the difference in spraying directly when its the B&W it really loves to be spraid and will sit calmly enjoying it, sometimes even arching its back so it will get wet entirely. Our red will endure it a while, but when it becomes to much or it continues to long he will escape by crawling underneath his piece of treebark which he uses as bedroom. Altho sometimes he will come up to the thing we use for spraying (dunno the proper word in english) and will try and drink as I am spraying him 80 ....I think hes just to lazy to walk down from his basking balkony and get a drink from his swimmingpool _________________ 1.0.0 T.rufescens

The gu's do have a pool which I have never seen them use. I've had success with the way I'm dealing with this so I intend to keep everything the same. _________________ John Light
