Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. I also got a baby argentina black and white Tegu In November. He is about 15 inches including tail and is about 10 months old.

He is only eating mice. I have tried blueberries, strawberries, giant meal worms, crickets, wax worms. I dont know what to do to get him to eat those things.

I have read that just mice can be bad. Would he be fine right now on just eating mice . I am putting herpetive vitamins and calcium on each mouse (dead pinkies) and he is esting them twice a day.

Any suggestions would be great

Thankyou, Shane

hmm... well that's a doosey... try peaches, pears, chicken, ground turkey, fish, crayfish, snails, roaches, hornworms, silkworms, and once you get him to try something of that sort, then mix whatever he ate with other stuff and sooner or later he's bound to eat something else. Also, if he's good and healthy, just don't feed him for a few days like try 2 days, and offer something besides the mice and if it doesn't work then give him some mice and then wait 3 days without food and try again, let the lil bugger get a little hungry. They are smarter than you think. If you keep giving into him wanting only the mice he'll realize it and always hold out for them. They can go quite a bit without food, mine decided on her own not to eat for a a week and a half once. and then she started eating again... vet said there wasnt any problems. so i guess she just wasn't hungry... hopefully some of the pros will shed some more light on this subject. good luck
