I have had my tegu for 3 weeks, he shed recently, but over his right eye is a white/semi transparent cover, he can open his eye but closes it alot and it is whitish, i have tried soaking him in water and rubbing it with my finger, could this be a scale or somthing else?
also he will periodically open his mouth and his toungue will stick out sideways, could he have swallowed some repti bark when he ate a cricket? Please help what do i do

Tegus do not have scales over the eyes like snakes do. The way you are talking about your tegu actions sounds like your temps are too hot. Do you have any pictures of the eye in question?
my temps are only in the 90's, he likes bury himself alot. i just changed the substrate to the repti bark, it seems more chunky and less sticky incase somthing poked him or he swallowed a sliver of wood.
i will try to get a pic
