Yoshi is always very active; she spends most of the day digging around, swimming, and trying to escape. Eats like there's no tomorrow.

I just noticed a white spot on the end of her nose. I assume its from her trying to jump out of her cage and smacking her nose on the screen top. Is there any way I can get her to stop doing this, without changing cages? We don't have her adult home finished yet.

I have the same problem with my guys. Here's what I am doing:

1 - I made sure temps/humidity is right in the current enclosure.
2 - I am working as fast as I can on the big enclosure icon_rolleyes.gif
3 - I am giving them as much (supervised) free roam time as possible.
4 - I am feeding them earlier. I noticed that they were mainly trying to escape in the morning before eating. After eating they mostly lay out and bask until late afternoon/evening when they burrow under the mulch for the night.
5 - I covered the screen top with an opaque plastic top (in my case a rubbermaid lid that I cut to allow placement of the basking light.

This seemed to help, but I think the only permanent solution is the bigger enclosure
