Hi. This is my first post. I learned about this site when I purchased my first Tegu at the show in Daytona Beach last month. I've been reading all the posts and learning a lot. My little guy (gal?) is growing an inch a week. He loves to sit on my head and has been extremely tame, right from day one. He is a good eater, but not aggressive. Yes! My question is how can I find out if I have a male or female? I was told this can only be done with an X-Ray. Some say he/she can be sexed by probing? Is this safe? My lizard experience is with lots of beardies and a water dragon that has since passed on. I am excited about having a big lizard.
Thank you,
Linda

Hi and welcome to the Tegu Forum.
Lets see a picture of your baby.

They can be sexed by being probed but I never did that myself. icon_wink.gif

Yes!! Post pictures!

Probing can be very harmful if not done by someone who is very experienced. You're better off waiting until he gets closer to a year and looking for physical signs. It doesn't really matter unless you're going to breed.
