We were on our way home from lunch today and passed a yard sale that had a 10 gallon tank, so I figured I would go see if I could get it for two or three dollars. As we got closer we saw a sign that said "do not touch, lizerd bits!" No, I did not type wrong, it said "lizerd bits!" So we checked it out and it was a tokay and it was marked $25.00. So the the kid and his mom were trying to tell me that the set up it was in was all they needed, just like it was.
This was the tank that they said was pretty much all they need to be happy.
So by the time my wife was done talking with the mother about how it's not being taken care of. she said we can just have it if we promise to take good care of it. So a little girl off to the side hollered at her mom and said "No, you have to pay me $2.40 for the crickets I got for my stupid brother this morning! He said he would give me back the money when he sold it." lol, so she was holding it hostage for the $2.40 ransom. So we gave her five bucks and brought it home. When we got home, and I moved the little artificial turf thing, three smaller lizards scrambled from beneath. I don't know what kind they are and I forgot to take pics of them before I put them back into the tank.
This is one of the little ones that came in the tank.
So as of right now, they are all in one small tank until I can go get a bigger one. The problem is that I know nothing about them except they can bite the shit out of you. I have read a couple of care sheets and wikipedia, and all of them seem to be different. So who here has any knowledge on these guys? I will try to get some good pics of the little ones later.
Right now I have it in a 10 gallon with some bed-a-beast, moss, rocks, and a couple of sticks and a shallow water bowl. I kept the little jungle gym thing in it and covered it with moss so they could hide for the time being. I will get everything needed as soon as I know what all I need. The ambient temp is around 80 degrees and the humidity is 55%. Is this okay? From everything I have read, they do not need uvb lighting since they are nocturnal. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Those are tokay geckos, without a doubt--I've kept some for quite a while. Yes they are bite-y, but I've heard they can be somewhat tameable--I never bothered with mine because handling 'em can really stress them out.
As for care, With 3 of them, you'll wan't a bigger tank, I sucessfully housed 3 in a large enclosure that was 3 foot tall, 1 foot deep, and 3 foot wide. Also, try to find out if you have males or females, males tend to be bigger than females and they usually have broader heads with their noses being a bit more blunt, the males also have more pronounced preanal pores-- look for a spiky band at the base of the tail...
They do well in 40 to 80% humidity- in other words, a good size water dish and a once daily misting of the tank will be sufficient. as for heating, they can live in a range from 65 to 85 degrees. I put a heat lamp over one side of the tank along with a heating pad on the floor. they don't require special lighting as they are nocturnal--I put one of the red heat lamps on the tank so that I can see them--Red brings out some beautiful colors
They happily eat crickets and mealworms--larger ones will eat pinkies and fuzzies as well. they do not eat fruit though.
While they arn't the most handleable, they are very beautiful. That being said, if you decide you don't wan't to keep them, I'll be happy to adopt them, I've only have a lonely female right now.
Oh yeah, males don't like living with other amles, but females can live with other females and one male with very little problems.
ALSO
If the humidity is just right, they will bark, makiing a GEK-Ko sound, it's sorta creepy when you don't know what it is, but it'll grow on you
The last one isn't a tokay, but I can't help on what exactly it is. _________________ 1.1.0 Bearded Dragons (Damien and Miss Priss)

the 1st few are Tokay 100% but the last one looks almost like a Bibron gecko. If i had to guess I would guess bibron. But i would not put $100 on the bet. But if you post more pics of it I will be sure to let you know if it is or not.
I myself have a tokay, and they do bite and will not let go until they are ready to. I have had mine hold on to my finger for 5 min once. It didn't hurt it was just kind of annoying. But I have been handleling mine for the past 6 months for about an hour a day. And he has improved in temperament.
