i dont knoew if anyone has noticed, or owns a black and white x red tegu, but i have been comparing my black and white x red to my blue tegu, and they seem to be very similair. The scalation on the head is exactly the same, whereas a blue tegu has different head scalation than a black and white, or a red. they have very similair patterns , yet different color, and thier body proportions are very similair. both the blue, and the black and white x red tegu have a longer skinnier body, compared to a regular black and white, or a regular red tegu. this leads me to hypothesize that the blue might be the descendent of a hybrid, if it does occur in nature. i know that the black and white x red has different colors than blue, but color is one of those things that can change in reptiles if they are bred for specific traits, in the same sense, why couldnt an isolated group of black and white x red hybrids develope a more whitish blue color in the wild. if you look at bert langwerfs page, there is a picture of one of his argentine black and white offspring, that was born pure white, so i dont think that this scenario would be impossible in nature, but maybe i just dont know enough.
