Our 7 month old Arg. B&W has started rubbing his nose on the glass to get to the Tegu on the other side. He's got a worn spot on the top of his nose that's getting worse. My wife moved him from the 75G he was in, into a 125G (2 feet longer) that our Blue Tegu just vacated. He must still be in shock from the move, he didn't eat today. I had to dig him up tonight to make sure he was still in there! I put him in front of his food and he just walked through it to get to the reflection. Nothing else matters. We're going to put some background on the outside tomorrow. I'm hoping to start his permanent enclosure tomorrow, but it will be 3 weeks before it's done.

What are peoples experiences with nose rubbing???

why are you keeping the Tegus separate? Mine rubbes his nose after he eats and is all messy, he does it to get all the food off, but i couldn't imagine him doing it till he had a worn spot. Wait ....is it his reflection he is trying to get to? maybe putting something there to get rid of what he is seeing is the best thing to do? good luck let us know how it goes

Yes, his reflection (trying to be humorous). I'll add the background tomorrow, but I'll have to wake him up to see how he reacts to it. He'll still be able to see his reflection on the front glass. Once I build his final enclosure the problem should go away. But I don't know how much damage he might do to himself before then. I need another 24 hours in a day to do all the thing I want to do.
