Just wanted to introduce myself. Saw a larger black/(gold/white?) in a pet store here and was absolutely amazed by it. I previously had 2 ocelot geckos who had domestic problems. I feel it's time to look for a new companion, and the tegu's appear from all my reading to be very responsive, and sometimes personal, which is what I really look for.

They are amazing! I find mine to be very personable, and amazingly smart. I mean you can leash train these guys! Mine is only 24" or so, just under a year. Took him outside for the first time and he clung to my shoulder scared at first, then relaxed and just scoped everything out. Very curious fun lizards. If you have never owned a large lizard such as a monitor or tegu before, i suggest getting one thats juevinile, help you make a better bond with him, and if he does bite you wont be toooo bad. icon_lol.gif
