Hes a cuty. I'm amazed at him sitting in a garden without restrains...doesnt he try to make a run for it?

Thanks for the comments. I haven't measured him in a while, but I know he's a little over 3 ft. long. He is very tame and I'm kind of amazed myself he doesn't make a run for it. I first brought him outside on a leash and he was very calm, so the other day I took a chance to take some pictures. I hope he stays cool like that, I don't know what I would do if I lost him. I had him outside with me all day last weekend at a crawfish boil (I live in Louisiana). He gets along with dogs, cats, etc. It was pretty funny though when some kids were petting him (on my lap) and then he proceeded to lift his tail and unload off the edge of the seat. Everybody was pretty grossed out but I thought it was funny. icon_lol.gif

LOL, I wish my red was as calm as that.
But I dont think that will happen. Altho he may get a bit more calm then he is now. I dont think he will be able to go on a picknick with me icon_razz.gif

Yeah, well I'm guessing he was about 8 months old (15 inches? head to tali) when I got him. He was feisty too, bit everything. He was the most active of the batch I picked him from, but he was the prettiest one too. I took a chance and knew he would be a handful, so it took many months of getting him used to me and calming him down. Now he's possibly the best pet I've ever had!

PS I had a Red before which was very calm from the start, and I was told not to get a blue b/c they are more aggressive. It turned out that didn't matter too much.

In my experience blues are the calmest of tegus. Then again Everything needs work and every person will tell you something different.
