Im getting a cage built tomorrow that is 18 inches high. How many inches of mulch do you think I should put in there? The cage is going to be 30 inches wide, 55 inches length, and 18 inches high (all made of plywood). There is going to be 2 holes cut on the top for 2 heat lamps and another hole cut for the UV lamp. And on each side of the cage, there will be a 3x3 inch square covered with screen for ventilation. And last, there will be plexi glass front thats going to swing open. What do you think?

Not bad. I used 6-8 inches of mulch in my visions and they were 18 inches high. You only need enough for them to completely bury themselves.

Kev,

If you are having it built. Go ahead and have it made 24 inches or taller. Keep in mind, more mulch makes burrowing better. I love to swim, and though I can snorkle in a couple feet of water, I'd prefer to have 6 to 10 feet.

Yeah its 1/2 way built now. I just have to get 2 floodlights for the basking spot. But yeah its only 18 inches high, so I can only put in about 6 inches of mulch icon_sad.gif . Good enough I guess. But yeah John, let me pick out of the litter!! haha that would be great, I WANT 1st PICK!! ..I think you should keep some back for yourself icon_razz.gif .
