Thanks for the comments, I know what you mean Spencer, Juancho was like that at first About any tips I just can tell you that I never tried to feed him with live rodents and we are close friends since I got him. I used to carry him everywhere I went in my clothes, now I use a bag for him to go to college, sports or even a walk, he loves to keep his head out of it and watch everything. Have you checked his videos on YouTube too?
Hola Maxi, que bueno lo que me contás, tengo un par de conocidos por allá con lagartos también, ya te agregué al msn.

Bienvenido Fabi!(Welcome Fabi)
Very nice Tegu you got there....almost like a puppy.
I recently got myself a Tegu as well....but a wild one though...that had been attacked by dogs. He's also called "juancho". Here's the post about his progress. http://thetegu.com/postt5599.html
I'm Chris and i'm originally from Sweden, but have been living in Argentina with my wife for some 5 years now. Of course she was the one to suggest the name "Juancho" for my tegu All Argentinians see a big lizard and thinks "Juancho".
Anyway, this site and the people here have helped me so much to understand the lagarto overo. So even though i reckon you got a lot of experience with your juancho, u'll learn a lot more here.

Thanks again! And i0r I've already saw the post, it's amazing the place you got for him, great job there!
Btw I found the opening of the cartoon I watched when I was a little kid and from where I got his name. You may know it as Wally Gator, but here in Argentina or Spanish countries we know it as "El Lagarto Juancho" (Juancho the lizard, he was an alligator tho) and here it is:
I was told Juancho was a boy Ben, that's why I called him so but you know how this is, not many experts around so maybe here I get a more tips about it. I've some pending topics to read about that.
And Greentriple, I saw you answer in the topic about making a video gallery where you say to search for Juancho, great that helped you out to get one! They are amazing! And I got another video too so here its the link:

Yes i'm trying to give him the best life possible....just hope he adapts and become as tame as yours. Yeh my wife told me about el lagarto juancho(wally gator)....first thing i asked her....how can you call a gator lizard? Then i remembered a few years ago she saw a wild tegu and said it was a crocodile.
Anyway....if you're going to Pilar Pcia Bs.As and wanna meet my Juancho just let me know.

Hey Ben! I think you are right! Juancho seems to be a girl! xD Take a look at this photos, I took some more since you said you find funny the ones sleeping on his (her lol) back:
As you can see Juancho doesnt seem to have those 'bumps' as Rick says. If there is something else to distinguish females from males just let me know!
And Cowher, I really love taking pics from animals and places.
