My hatchling White Throated Monitor that I bought yesterday, after close observation, doesn't seem to be using his back right leg. Instead of using it like a leg he uses it more like a paddle, not pushing off it, dragging and sweeping off it.
On his left leg everything looks normal, with clearly defined upper leg, lower leg and foot, just like his two front legs.
On his right leg (The dodgy one) His lower leg and foot look normal, but his upper leg looks smaller, shrunken, with a build up of skin around it.
When I pick him up he springs up off the other three legs, but his back right leg just hangs there lifelessly, and when I support it with my other hand, He doesn't re-arrange it to make him more comfortable.
When I gently touch both legs, his back upper left leg is fine, but his back upper right leg certainly seems smaller, and even feels knobbly.. almost as if he has two knees.
I came to the conclusion that it was either broken/dislocated/sprained etc. or whether he was born with the deformity.
He doesnt appear to me any pain, and does not flinch or whip etc. when I touch it..
Any Ideas?
If so, does it need urgent repair? will it cause him any problems as he grows?
Please Reply, Thanks in Advance =) _________________ Davii
