Hey,
I bought my tegu on Saturday and I have tried to give him eggs, grapes, turkey, chicken, crickets and he hasnt eaten a bite since I brought him home, I dont know what to do. Right now he is shedding quite abit, I dont know if that has something to do with it... I hope I'm just reading into this too much and its normal but its really starting to worry me.

Hi jamescott.I don't know if I welcomed you to the Tegu forum family yet.If I didn't I want to welcome you now and congrats on your new Tegu.Don't worry.Your Tegu is fine.It is normal for them not wanting to eat when they are in a new home. Some times they don't eat for a week. And you are right some Tegus slow down in eating, too, when they are shedding.I also want to let you know that it is normal for the skin on his tail to come of a few days ( some times up to a week) later. It is good that he is soaking in his bowl because that helps with the shedding. Some of us have to give our Tegus baths to help them with the shedding. If he isn't shedding any more I do not recommend to give him/her any baths because to many baths can dry out the skin. Here are some sites you might want to read.Hope that helps.Ask as many questions and as often as you want to.Good luck and take care.
